BlueCheck caries detection and monitoring device is a saline based solution containing a biomolecule (protein linked dye); it utilizes the natural hydroxyapatite‐binding chemistry of proteins to specifically and reversibly bind to porous dental hydroxyapatite in caries lesions.

BlueCheck is a paint on detection tool to provide objective evidence on caries lesion status to aid the clinician during a routine examination as part of diagnosis, treatment planning and for ongoing monitoring. A change in color enables clinicians to visualize surface and sub‐surface porosity associated with active dental caries in enamel and dentin (healthy enamel and inactive lesions do not turn blue).
